
Talk with Elena Magini
Curatorship in contemporary art and the relationship with institutions

On 11 November 2021 at 18.30, as part of the PARSEC RESIDENCY programme, we present a talk with Elena Magini, curator and coordinator of the Exhibitions and Events department of Centro Pecci .
Starting from the beginnings of her curatorial artistic research, Magini will illustrate what distinguishes and differentiates the work of curatorship in public and private institutions, how emerging artists can approach it and how a contemporary art exhibition is born.

Elena Magini (1982) has been curator and coordinator of Exhibitions and Events for the Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art since 2015. Previously she has worked for numerous public and private organizations dedicated to contemporary art, including EX3 Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea, CCC Strozzina, Palazzo Strozzi, Galleria dell’Accademia, MAN Museo d’Arte Provincia di Nuoro, Fondazione Biagiotti Progetto Arte. She has written contributions and critical texts for exhibition catalogues and specialist magazines and has collaborated with various magazines in the sector, including Flash Art, Exibart and Segno. Since 2020 he has been teaching the course Planning and Museum Management for the Master in Arts Management at IED Florence.
All Parsec events are open to the public and free of charge, with compulsory membership (€5).
