Realizzare un libro con carta trovata in giro | workshop by Libri Finti Clandestini

On Thursday, March 9, Parsec presents the workshop Realizzare un libro con carta trovata in giro curated by Libri Finti Clandestini.

The workshop is designed as part of APRITI SESAMO exhibition of Libri Finti Clandestini and 5X Letterpress, curated by Parsec, which will open March 8 at Piccola Galleria (Via Marsala 31/d, Bologna).

Participants will be invited to learn a method and practical technique on how to make a hardback book in all its parts based on the use of only paper scraps, from assembly to binding, from hardcover to guards. In a different way than an actual bookbinding course, this mode will be more focused on self-production, repeatable at low cost without needing specific instrumentation.

Everyone will deploy their own creativity by choosing shapes, sizes, elements, colors… according to their own tastes and needs.

03.9.2023 4-8 pm

Cost of the workshop: 30 Euro + Parsec card (5€)You can book by Tuesday, March 8 by writing to parsec.bo@gmail.com

________
Libri Finti Clandestini is a cosmopolitan collective that works with the aim of creating experimental publishing products using paper scraps from paper mills, printing presses, printing workshops and abandoned warehouses. Born with the creation of books and sketchbooks patiently assembled one by one, hand-bound, stamped, numbered, ready to be written, drawn or to take on any other meaning the owner wants to give it, the collective’s production has thus focused on single-copy books and small pop-up editions, in which bizarre characters from a late 19th/early 20th century imagination move and come to life when the pages are opened.
Thus devoting much time and attention to researching materials for their reuse, over the years the project has expanded into other artistic directions besides publishing, always under the banner of experimentation, investigating fields of photography, letterpress printing and urban exploration.
