Giochi Preziosi Talk and Presentation with Beatrice Citterio
CLOSER – Becoming the City @Esprit Nouveau, Piazza della Costituzione
6:30 PM

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 6:30 PM, the second event of the Terrapolis – Transversal Worlds, Posthuman Futures series will take place at Esprit Nouveau. Parsec will engage in conversation with researcher Beatrice Citterio about her independent editorial project Giochi Preziosi.

The publication explores the impact of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on the affected territories, analyzing how the Games intersect with existing development dynamics—especially in terms of how mountain regions are subordinated to urban centers. The project is a visual documentation developed through participation in public meetings and mobilizations—both in the city and in the valleys involved—as well as through archival and local press research. Photography is used transversally: as a tool for visual analysis and analytical documentation, but also as a communicative medium, with particular attention to how mountain territories are idealized and commodified for promotional purposes. The research began in late 2023 with the first mobilization against the bobsled track in Cortina d’Ampezzo and is currently ongoing. The first editorial release of Giochi Preziosi was published in November 2024.

The event is part of the program CLOSER – Becoming the City, curated by Adiacenze.
