Irene Cassarini

AtelierSí, via S. Vitale 69, Bologna
Opening Friday, February 2, h 5 p.m.

Irene Cassarini, concluding the Parsec Residency/Moving Image residency program sponsored by Parsec, presents the multimedia installation //:LOCAL gHOST. On the opening day, the artist will present a live sound performance

How is it possible not to limit ourselves to being the object of the systemic extractivism operated through the sharing of our data?
Cassarini delves into the subject of new technologies, their social and environmental impact and algorithmic anxiety, an expedient to reflect on multiple implications: from mental health to the contradictions of capitalist society, from a sense of community to the ecological impact of technologies.
Combining video, sound design and sculpture, the artist-developed device moves rhizomatically, connecting online and offline worlds in an indissoluble network.
