PARSEC RESIDENCY is a residency programme aimed at artists, curators and researchers, both Italian and international, coming from different fields and disciplines, with no restrictions on age, background, expression or language.

For this new edition, Parsec Residency #11 takes on an entirely research-based format! The residency is not aimed at producing new works or projects, but offers dedicated time and space for developing and deepening research.

During the two months of the residency, from October to December, selected participants will be able to carry forward their own research in dialogue with the other residents and with the Parsec team. The programme does not require reaching a productive or exhibition-based outcome.

The programme aims to explore questions that have run through the different editions of Terrapolis, connected to arts & ecologies in a broad sense — such as the relationships between artistic practices, environment, territories, technologies, forms of coexistence, and social and ecological transformations. A deliberately open field, within which different perspectives, methodologies and languages can converge.

Parsec will support the research through moments of exchange, studio visits, tutorials and opportunities for dialogue, encouraging the sharing of tools, references and practices among residents, the team, and invited professionals.

At the end of the residency, the paths developed will be shared during a final public day at Parsec, and the materials produced over the two months — which may take different forms and languages — will also be collected and published on the Parsec website, contributing to the archive of theoretical insights.

The residency provides two workstations at the Parsec headquarters, in via del Porto 48 C/D, Bologna, from 19 October to 19 December 2026.

CONDITIONS

  • The residency programme does not provide board or lodging
  • Selected participants will be asked for a contribution of €100 per month to cover the costs of maintaining the space
  • Applicants must not have any other ongoing residency projects and must be able to guarantee a stable presence in the space, to ensure effective collaboration and productive engagement over the course of the four-month project. This will allow the Parsec team to support and work alongside the artist productively, and to create a cohesive environment with constant exchange among residents

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Parsec aims to be a meeting place for different artistic visions and practices. Two people — among artists, curators and researchers — will be selected to share the studio and use of the project room. Selection will be based on the following criteria: quality of the proposed research and its coherence with the themes explored by Terrapolis, the need to work in a shared studio, openness to dialogue, willingness to collaborate and to engage with the public through talks and discussions of various kinds, and the potential for further exploring the themes addressed through the public programme.

TIMELINE

Applications may be submitted no later than Wednesday, 30 September 2026. Applications submitted after this date, or incomplete applications, will not be considered.

5–9 October 2026: selection interviews at the Parsec headquarters (with the option of an online meeting)
12 October 2026: interview results
19 October 2026: official start of the residency
