re_derma is a multimedia artistic collective founded in 2024, working across installation, performative practices and audiovisual sets. Their research explores the body in its relationship with technology and structures of power, focusing on the contemporary digital ecosystem: Artificial Intelligence, biohacking, and the digitalisation of desire and the body. The project takes shape through interactive installations, experiential spaces, A/V performances and multi-screen set designs.
Cyber-Humus is a living installation that gives form to posthuman convergence, dismantling its anthropocentric perspective. The work is structured as a semicircle of terracotta vessels holding fragments of earth, mycelium and organic matter collected from urban neighbourhoods and Apennine territories. This material, contaminated and hybridised through hardware incursions, is translated into an open, integrated circulatory system, in which plant, microbial and technological matter share the same vital flow.
This biological activity, invisible to the human eye, is instantly translated into a pulsing architecture of sounds and light frequencies, and the visitor becomes part of the work’s metabolism.
After three days of continuous mutation, the system shuts down and all organic matter returns to the earth, closing the cycle of translation and data-visualisation, and leaving open the fundamental question: what circulates, today, between us?
