unfolding bodies
WORKSHOP CURATED BY PARSEC
Eden Park Zone – Via Camillo Casarini, 19 Bologna

Parsec presents unfolding bodies, a cycle of two workshops dedicated to the exploration of the body through contemporary artistic practices. With an open gaze and enriched by multiple points of view, we will discover together some of the elements, stratifications and resonances that make up our body and the relationship it has with its surroundings.

Saturday 9 November
h 11-14
Irene Adorni in collaboration with Parsec
The workshop explores the link between the internal parts of the body and the emotional sphere, taking inspiration from the work of Eva Fàbregas. The artist creates sculptures with soft volumes and pastel tones that evoke internal organs and biological processes, such as digestion and metamorphosis. Her installations, between intimacy and desire, invite a direct sensory experience, creating a reflection on the body as a place of transformation. During the workshop, we will delve into Fàbregas’ work and then realise together a thematic fanzine and a collective sculpture inspired by his practice.

Saturday 23 November
h 10-13

The skin, considered the place of communication between what happens outside and what we have inside, is a threshold. Sweat is the excess of this inside poured into the world outside. Starting with aerobic activity that stimulates sweating, we will build a quality of movement dedicated to fatigue, of which the skin is the container.

Sissj Bassani (Savignano sul Rubicone, ’97) is an Italian dancer and choreographer. She is performer and assistant of Claudia Castellucci (Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale 2020), dancer for Panzetti/Ticconi and artistic director of the collective Parini Secondo (2017-present).

Her training, after a long period in ballet, took place directly in company in the field of research dance and experimental theatre with gruppo nanou (Ravenna, IT 2012-2018) and Claudia Castellucci (2015-to date). She has worked with Kinkaleri, Daniele Albanese/Stalker, Elisa Sbaragli, Valentina Pagliarani, Salvo Lombardo. As an author, in 2017 she founded together with Martina Piazzi, Camilla Neri and Francesca Pizzagalli the movement collective Parini Secondo, with the collaboration of electronic composer Alberto Ricca/Bienoise. Individually, she created ‘oro’ (2019) and ‘A VASISTAS’ (2022).

As author and performer, she seeks presence in inactivity, in the shadows of action. She conceives dance in thresholds, in those transitional moments when action is both itself and its opposite. For her, there is no alternative to site-specific. She loves pop culture and Internet phenomena.
