Electronic Music Workshop for children aged 8-12
Gerarda Avallone (ODIA)

A practical and playful workshop designed to introduce children and young people to electronic music through the exploration and experimentation of instruments such as electronic drums, virtual synths and effects such as autotune. Each activity will be presented as a simple game, with the aim of stimulating curiosity and helping participants discover how sound can be transformed and changed through technology. The workshop will culminate in the creation of a short piece of original electronic music, built with everyone’s contributions.

Since 2017, Avallone, under the pseudonym Odia, has been exploring techno soundscapes with a focus on live and instrumental approaches using synthesizers. Her work also embraces more experimental electronics, featuring both national and international collaborations. Her research is deeply connected to politics and the creation of sound languages that exist outside mainstream conventions. As a sound designer and performer, she navigates self-managed social spaces, clubs, and theatres, maintaining both stylistic coherence and a precise technical approach. She also works as a sound engineer, as well as a mixing and recording engineer.
